About Us
Kate Bishop Hamel founded Community Matters in 2008 to provide the Lakes Region with personalized, professional services and help the many nonprofit organizations and small businesses in the area to grow and thrive.

Kate’s years of diverse experience in both the nonprofit sector and corporate world provide her with a unique background that makes her keenly aware of an organization’s culture.

Her background in human resources and marketing along with her natural curiosity and strong communication skills enables her to provide positive solutions to some of the most challenging situations.

Kate also sits on the boards of several Lakes Region nonprofits including The Friends of the Gilford Public Library, Wolfeboro Area Children’s Center, and Lakes Region Child Care Services. She is also a member of Belknap Independent Business Alliance (BIBA) and the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce.
